Both the pinchweld and the black frit band around the edge of the new glass are primed. The frit protects the adhesive from UV damage, and priming gives the urethane a consistent surface to grip on both sides, so the bond is the same strength at every point around the glass.

A continuous bead is applied to the correct height and profile. A break or thin spot in the bead is what later becomes wind noise or a water leak, so laying one unbroken bead of the right shape is what keeps the cabin quiet and dry for the life of the glass.

The new glass is set into the bead and pressed down evenly, aligned to the body lines and to any camera bracket or sensor mount. Correct alignment here is what lets the panels close flush and the camera sit where it was designed to, before any calibration is done.
