The software behind every Skyview job
Skyview Auto Glass runs its shops and mobile service across Michigan, Indiana and Illinois on an operations system we built ourselves: Skyview Auto Glass CRM. Off-the-shelf tools were not made for a glass company that runs 191 city shops, mobile technicians and three state price lists from one dashboard, so we built one that is. This page explains what it does for you, from your first request to a warranty claim years later.
Your request becomes a job record right away
A quote request on this website becomes a lead in the system automatically, with your name, phone number, the vehicle decoded from the VIN you entered, the service you asked for and which site it came from. A phone request is entered by the representative on the first call. Every new request is checked against existing customers by phone number, so a repeat customer's history is attached instead of a duplicate record being created.
The VIN decides the glass
A 17-character VIN fills in the year, make, model and trim on its own, and the system suggests the glass part number for that exact vehicle. Many models have several windshield versions — rain sensor, acoustic layer, heated wiper park, heads-up display, camera bracket — and the part number is how we make sure the replacement carries the same features as the glass that came out. Nothing is ordered until you agree to the quote.
One price rule per state
Each state shop has a pricing rule for each service, and every quote in that state comes from that rule. The price does not depend on who answers the phone or which day you call. Repairs, reseals and installation-only work are set prices; replacements are priced from the part your vehicle needs.
Scheduling built around real technician days
The schedule caps each technician at six jobs a day and keeps a 30-minute travel buffer between stops, so arrival windows are set from what a technician can actually drive, not from what a calendar has room for. Same-day requests are taken up to a 2:00 PM cutoff; after that you are offered the next available window. Dispatch sees every technician's day in order on one board.
Where your job is, step by step
Technicians work from the system on their phone. They mark On the way, Arrived, Started and Finished as each happens, and every step is timestamped the moment the button is pressed. The office sees it live, which is how a customer service representative can call you with an exact ETA once the glass is on the truck.
Texting that stays with your job
When we text you from the system, the conversation is kept on your job record. You can reply to the same number at any time — a question, a gate code, a change of plan — and the office sees it alongside the appointment, the vehicle and the part.
Every piece of glass is tracked
Every part we order is tracked from the order to the warehouse to the technician who picked it up to the vehicle it went into. Returns and credits are tracked the same way. A job cannot be marked ready for the day with its glass still unordered.
Records stored by your VIN
Every job is stored against the vehicle's VIN. That is why a warranty claim needs no paperwork: give us the VIN and we find the job, the part and the technician. Warranty visits are logged as their own job type against the original job, which is where the quality figures on our standards page come from.
Who can see your information
Access is set by role. Technicians see only their own jobs — never another customer's details, pricing or payroll. Dispatchers book work and talk to customers but cannot see what things cost. These rules are enforced in the database itself, not just on the screen, so a mistake in the app cannot show someone data they should not have.
All 191 locations in one system
Every job is matched to the Skyview city shop its address falls in, so we can see how each location performs and route work to the right shop in Michigan, Indiana or Illinois.
How we work on every job, step by step, is written down on our standards page. The warranty behind the work is on the warranty page. Other auto glass shops can run on the same system: see Skyview Auto Glass CRM.
Technology questions
Do I need an app to book with Skyview Auto Glass?
No. The system is used by our team, not by customers. You book by calling (248) 325-5559 or online at skyviewautoglass.com/book/, and we confirm by call or text.
Why does Skyview ask for my VIN?
The VIN identifies the exact glass your vehicle was built with — rain sensor, acoustic layer, heated wiper park, heads-up display, camera bracket. The system decodes it and suggests the matching part number, so the replacement carries the same features as the original.
How does Skyview find my job for a warranty claim?
Every job is stored by VIN. Give us the VIN, or any proof of service, and we find the job, the part and the technician. Call (248) 325-5559 or email warranty@skyviewautoglass.com.
Who can see my phone number and address?
Only the people working your job. Technicians see their own assigned jobs only, dispatchers cannot see costs or payroll, and the access rules are enforced in the database, not just on the screen.
Is the Skyview system available to other auto glass shops?
Yes. The same system Skyview runs on, Skyview Auto Glass CRM, is described at skyviewautoglass.com/crm/, including how to ask about using it.
