Reseal & Seals

Windshield Reseal & Car Window Seal Replacement

Water on the dash or floor, a wet headliner, or wind noise at speed usually means a seal has failed.

Windshield reseal

We find the leak with a water test. A small gap can be resealed, and when the bond itself has failed we remove the entire windshield and reinstall it on a fresh bead of urethane — or replace it if the glass is damaged.

Windshield molding and rubber seal

Loose, cracked or missing molding lets water run under it. We replace the molding or rubber seal.

Car window seals and weatherstripping

Worn door-window weatherstripping, run channels and rubber seals cause leaks, wind noise and windows that rattle. We replace them with parts matched to your vehicle.

Installed by another shop?

If another shop installed the windshield and it is leaking or whistling, see our leaking windshield repair page. If we installed it, it’s covered under our lifetime warranty.

Questions about windshield reseal and seals

Can a windshield be resealed without replacing it?

Often yes. A small gap can be resealed. When the bond itself has failed, we remove the entire windshield and reinstall it on a fresh bead of urethane — or replace it if the glass is damaged.

Can you replace the rubber seal around my windshield?

Yes. Loose, cracked or missing molding lets water run under it, and we replace the molding or rubber seal.

Do you replace car door window seals and weatherstripping?

Yes. Worn door-window weatherstripping, run channels and rubber seals cause leaks, wind noise and windows that rattle, and we replace them with parts matched to your vehicle.

Why does my windshield whistle at highway speed?

Usually a gap in the seal or molding is letting air in. A water or air test finds where, and the fix is a reseal, a molding replacement, or a full reinstall depending on what the test shows.
