Can sunroof glass be repaired?
Most sunroof and moonroof panels are tempered glass, which breaks into small pieces rather than cracking the way a laminated windshield does. That means a broken panel is replaced, not repaired. Large panoramic roofs are a different assembly — see our panoramic roof glass page.
What we do
We clean the broken glass out of the roof opening, track and cabin, fit the new glass panel, and check that it seals, opens and closes properly. If the problem is the sunroof motor, track or drain rather than the glass, tell us when you call.
Until it’s replaced
Cover the opening from the outside with heavy plastic and painter’s tape, keep the car out of the rain, and don’t try to open or close the sunroof.

The price depends on the vehicle and the panel, and we quote it before ordering. Broken sunroof glass is usually covered under comprehensive insurance, and we file the claim for you.
