Insurance & Calibration

Does insurance cover ADAS camera calibration after a windshield replacement?

Usually, when the windshield replacement itself is covered. If your vehicle has a forward camera behind the windshield, the manufacturer requires it to be recalibrated after the glass is replaced, so the calibration is part of the same repair — and we include it in the glass claim we file with your insurer. What you pay out of pocket is set by your own policy and deductible; we check your coverage before any work starts.

Why calibration is part of the repair

The camera that runs lane keeping, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise looks through the windshield. When the glass is replaced, that camera must be recalibrated — static, dynamic or both, depending on the vehicle. Calibration is a separate operation with its own cost, and it is not optional.

How Skyview handles it

We quote the glass and the calibration together from your VIN before anything is ordered, bill your insurer directly and file the claim for you at no charge. Static and dynamic calibration are both done where the vehicle is — at the shop or mobile — with a pre-scan before the work and a post-scan after it. If a camera warning light or a lane-keeping problem shows up after we calibrate, we come back and redo the calibration at no charge.

If you are paying yourself

The calibration is quoted with the glass, so the number you approve already includes it. Typical ranges are on the pricing page.
